Kolon Industry is introducing a variety of automotive materials that incorporate plant-based and recycled raw materials. The exhibited products are comprised of three categories: bio-based materials, recycled plastic-based materials, and components designed for easy recycling. The bio-based materials are eco-friendly, made from plant-derived sources such as soybeans and corn, which reduce carbon emissions from the manufacturing stage. The recycled plastic-based materials are products in which over 50% of the weight consists of recycled PET, and these are used in car seats, headliners, and door panels. The components designed for easy recycling are automotive interior parts made from a single material, allowing for straightforward physical recycling through shredding without a separate separation process. In particular, these solutions are highlighted as a way to meet the European End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) regulation requirement mandating the use of recycled materials from scrapped vehicles in new car production.

Kolon ENP is presenting industrial engineering plastic products made from marine waste and industrial residues. In addition to materials utilizing discarded fishing nets, ropes, and airbags, the company is also showcasing production technologies that combine bio-based raw materials and renewable energy.

A Kolon Industry representative stated, "Eco-friendly technology is a key competitive edge in the future automotive industry," and added, "We will proactively respond to increasingly stringent global environmental regulations based on Kolon's technological competitiveness."

Meanwhile, in January, Kolon Industry established a dedicated organization that integrates its automotive materials and parts business capabilities.
