On April 23, Hampyeong County in Jeollanam-do announced that it had conducted a price stabilization campaign to establish fair trade practices and enhance trust in the local commercial district ahead of the local festival.
The price stabilization campaign, held on April 22 in the Hampyeong Cheonji Traditional Market area, focused on several key initiatives: creating an atmosphere of price stability, eradicating unfair practices such as overcharging, encouraging the use of businesses with fair pricing, and promoting registration for Hampyeong Love Gift Certificates and the public delivery app 'Meokgaebi'.
In particular, the campaign aimed to preemptively prevent consumer inconvenience caused by overcharging, and to create a festival environment where both tourists and residents can visit with peace of mind.
The county operates price monitoring personnel at all times to regularly survey local price trends, and posts the results on the county's website to take the lead in creating a transparent and trustworthy consumer environment. Through these efforts, the county expects to not only elevate the quality of the local festival but also lay the foundation for a mutually beneficial local economy.
County Governor Lee Sangik stated, "We will do our best to create an environment where visitors to Hampyeong can consume with confidence," adding, "Through continuous monitoring and the establishment of fair trade practices, we will build a trustworthy local commercial district."
