First Showcase of the "Western Inland Region Gourmet Tour Product Development Project"
On April 23, Buyeo County in South Chungcheong Province announced that it had successfully concluded an experiential tourism product that combined local specialties with tourism resources.
This tourism product attracted attention as Buyeo County was selected as the first destination for the "2025 Western Inland Region Gourmet Tour Product Development Project," which is jointly promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, South Chungcheong Province, and the Chungnam Culture and Tourism Foundation.
The county introduced a stay-type tourism product that fused unique local gourmet resources and local content in conjunction with the "Sedo Cherry Tomato and Canola Flower Festival." From April 18 to 20, a total of 330 tourists participated over three days, receiving an enthusiastic response.
The main programs included: ▲Buseosan Fortress trekking ▲traditional lotus leaf rice gourmet experience ▲participation in the Sedo Cherry Tomato & Canola Flower Festival ▲tasting of lotus leaf bread and lotus leaf tea, among other diverse activities designed to stimulate all five senses.
In particular, experiences such as healthy gourmet food using lotus leaves, enjoying the spring atmosphere with canola flowers, and cherry tomato activities received an especially enthusiastic response from tourists.
The county plans to actively attract visitors from the Seoul metropolitan area by planning and selling additional gourmet tour products in connection with the "123 Sabi Craft Week" event scheduled for June.
A county official said, "As the peak tourism season arrives, we will continue to introduce a variety of stay-type tourism products utilizing local festivals and resources, and take the lead in revitalizing tourism in the western inland region."
