Gwangju Transportation Corporation (President: Cho Ikmoon) and Pineville, a welfare facility for people with disabilities in Gwangju (Director: Kim Seojeong), announced on April 23 that they recently held a subway experience event for transportation-vulnerable individuals at Sangmu Station in Seo-gu to mark the 45th Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The event featured a variety of on-site programs aimed at helping transportation-vulnerable individuals use urban railways correctly. These included tours of station facilities, safety education in case of emergencies, electric train boarding and alighting experiences, satisfaction surveys, and the collection of suggestions. The event received a positive response.

The corporation plans to actively reflect the main inconveniences and improvement points gathered during this experience event, and will make efforts to enhance the mobility rights of people with disabilities and provide customized, user-centered transportation services.

On April 24, the corporation will collaborate with the Association of Welfare Facilities for the Disabled to host an honorary stationmaster event for transportation-vulnerable individuals at Sangmu Station and Nongseong Station. The event will offer various station work experiences, such as making station announcements and handling passenger inquiries.

President Cho Ikmoon stated, "We are striving to create a comfortable urban railway environment for transportation-vulnerable individuals, including people with disabilities," and added, "We will continue to do our best to fulfill our social responsibilities as a model public enterprise in the local community."
