At the Supreme Council meeting of the Democratic Party held at the National Assembly in Yeouido on the 23rd, Park stated, "We can no longer stand by and watch the state governance be manipulated by the tightly-knit insurrection family," and added, "The Democratic Party will promptly reintroduce the Special Prosecutor Act on Insurrection."

He further explained, "The newly proposed Special Prosecutor Act on Insurrection will be a stronger bill," and emphasized, "I would like to reiterate that only a special prosecutor can uncover the truth of this case."

Previously, on April 17, the Special Prosecutor Act on Insurrection was put to a re-vote at the National Assembly plenary session but was rejected as it failed to reach the required 200 votes for passage, with 197 in favor and 102 against out of a total of 299 members.

Park, the Floor Leader, said, "The continued attempts by the forces supporting the insurrection to cover up the case are truly unbearable," and added, "At the insurrection trial on April 21, the defendant Yoon Sukyeol claimed the legitimacy of martial law with the absurd argument that it is value-neutral and a legal means, without any reflection or remorse regarding the insurrection."

He also criticized, "Han Ducksoo, despite being an accomplice to the insurrection, has forgotten his responsibilities as acting president and is already eyeing the next presidential election," and added, "Various government ministries, including the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, are making personnel appointments aimed at ensuring the continued presence of insurrection-supporting forces."

He also pointed out to the People Power Party, "As a party that supported the insurrection, not only have they failed to apologize to the public, but they are also ignoring both a break with Yoon Sukyeol and the special prosecutor on insurrection."

He continued, "The people are still suffering from the consequences of the insurrection, and the Korean economy is struggling under a flood of martial law bills, yet the insurrection-supporting forces shamelessly talk about running for president, opposing the special prosecutor, and forming new parties," adding, "This is a declaration of their intent to continue destroying the constitutional order and a collusion to annihilate the rule of law."

Park concluded, "The Democratic Party will do its utmost to end the insurrection, honoring the will of the people who desire the normalization of the nation."
