Taebaek City in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Lee Sangho) announced on April 23 that it will be recruiting participants for the "2025 Student Horseback Riding Support Program" from today until April 30. The program aims to expand opportunities for local youth to engage in healthy leisure activities and experience the horse industry.

The city will recruit a total of 140 elementary, middle, and high school students, as well as youth residing in Taebaek. The program covers 70% of the horseback riding lesson fees, so participants will only need to pay 96,000 won out of the total 320,000 won fee.
Applications can be submitted individually through the "Horsepia" portal for horse industry information, and final participants will be selected by computerized lottery. Results will be announced individually via text message in early May, or can be checked on the Horsepia website.
A Taebaek City official stated, "We hope that this program will help local youth experience horseback riding as a healthy leisure activity and contribute to their overall well-being."
The student horseback riding program will be held at Taebaek Riding Club and will be operated on weekends and during school vacations.
