This campaign involved the head of Gijang-eup and 15 council members, who walked through key downtown areas, picked up discarded trash, and checked for potential hazards as part of their environment maintenance activities.
Additionally, the campaign promoted the importance of discovering welfare crisis households and encouraged residents to report neighbors in need of help, using placards and promotional materials featuring the message, "Please find and let us know about neighbors around us who need help!"
Kwon Myoyeon, the private sector chairperson, stated, "This activity is a meaningful event that goes beyond simple environment maintenance and a campaign; it aims to create a welfare community where we take care of our own village." She added, "The public and private sectors will work together to build a village without welfare blind spots."
Lee Sangsik, the head of Gijang-eup, said, "The active interest and reports from residents play a major role in eliminating welfare blind spots." He continued, "If you discover a neighbor in need of help, please do not hesitate to contact us at any time."
The Gijang-eup Community Security Council is strengthening the local welfare safety net by promoting various welfare-focused projects and campaigns to discover welfare crisis households.
