Cheon Haram: "Discussing Party Formation with Incompetent Individuals"
A photo of former President Yoon Sukyeol with attorneys Kyeri Kim and Euicheol Bae, who were part of his impeachment trial defense team, was recently made public. In response, Cheon Haram, a member of the Reform New Party, commented, "You can see just how lonely and miserable he (former President Yoon) is." In an interview on CBS Radio’s "Kim Hyunjung’s News Show" on the 22nd, Cheon said, "It shows how few people come to eat with him, and how few want to do politics with him, that he is discussing the founding of a party with attorneys who have never been involved in politics and do not seem particularly capable." The two attorneys had recently announced plans to create a new party called "Yoon Again" but later put those plans on hold.
Cheon further criticized, "The attorneys themselves are truly bad people. They represented him and he was removed from office. What are they proud of, posting about being 'Yoon Father' and sharing photos? As attorneys, they should feel ashamed." He added, "They lost the impeachment case 8 to 0, which is a situation I simply cannot understand. How can they show their faces in public?"
He continued, "It seems former President Yoon took photos having a meal with the attorneys in an attempt to generate even a little bit of attention. Figures from the hardline conservative side, such as Jeon Hangil and Jeon Kwanghoon, have already completely abandoned any interest in former President Yoon." He went on to say, "Former President Yoon probably did not expect that political support for him would disappear so quickly. He is becoming increasingly lonely and miserable, to the point where all he can do is call in his own attorneys, make nonsensical remarks, and talk about founding a party."

Previously, on the 19th, Attorney Kim posted on social media, "My first president elected with my own hand. Yoon Father (Yoon Sukyeol Father)," along with a photo taken at a meal with former President Yoon and Attorney Bae. On the 17th, they had announced plans to launch the "Yoon Again" party, but soon after put those plans on hold. Attorney Bae explained, "There was a flood of pressure from the People Power Party. So many misunderstandings and wild speculations were swirling around the press conference that it could become a burden for (former President) Yoon. Therefore, following (former President) Yoon's wishes, we have decided to postpone the press conference for now."
Pastor Jeon Kwanghoon of Sarang Jeil Church, who led rallies opposing former President Yoon’s impeachment, has also announced his candidacy for president as a member of the Free Unification Party. On the 20th, during the "National Sunday Joint Worship," Pastor Jeon declared regarding former President Yoon, "I will bring him back as the president of unification through a revolution, just like the 4·19 and 5·16 incidents." He also insisted that if former President Yoon is acquitted in his criminal trial, the Constitutional Court’s impeachment ruling should be retried.
Pastor Jeon stated, "I declared my candidacy because I believe I am the only one who can solve this problem. If not me, no one?neither the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials, the National Election Commission, the Constitutional Court, nor the National Assembly?can do it." He is scheduled to hold a press conference announcing his presidential candidacy on the 24th.
The People Power Party is reportedly in an awkward position regarding the situation surrounding former President Yoon. On the 22nd, Lee Yangsoo, Secretary-General of the People Power Party, said in an interview on SBS Radio’s "Kim Taehyun’s Political Show," "It would be best not to do things like forming a new party or meeting separately with Pastor Jeon Kwanghoon. I am drawing a line at the level of Secretary-General in case anyone is tempted to go along with such things."
When the host asked, "Can’t the party leadership just tell former President Yoon to do nothing?" Lee replied, "As far as I know, former President Yoon does not actually intend to do anything. He is currently focusing on his ongoing trial."
