Featuring 31 Types of Training Content

Seocho-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeon Seongsoo) announced on April 23 that it will operate a smart cognitive rehabilitation training program for the disabled using the smart cognitive training device Rehacom starting this month, to support healthy aging and integrated cognitive rehabilitation management for people with disabilities.

Seocho-gu Launches Smart Cognitive Rehabilitation Training Program for People with Disabilities Smart Cognitive Rehabilitation Training Program for the Disabled. Provided by Seocho-gu.

This program targets people with disabilities who require cognitive rehabilitation and utilizes the smart cognitive training device Rehacom. It consists of nine types of screening tests, including attention, concentration, memory, response ability, logical reasoning, and thinking skills, as well as 31 types of training content such as attention and concentration, memory, executive function, and visuomotor skills training.

Rehacom is a customized computerized PC system that presents repetitive problem-solving tasks. The difficulty level is automatically adjusted based on accumulated data, allowing training from basic to advanced cognitive functions. This makes it effective in improving cognitive abilities for people with various types of disabilities and across different age groups.

In addition, the smart cognitive rehabilitation training program aims to improve brain health and daily living task abilities for people with disabilities. It will systematically operate in connection with the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), a dementia screening test, to identify new participants and maximize therapeutic effects by providing concurrent cognitive counseling.

The program is available to people with disabilities registered in Seocho-gu. Eligibility is determined through in-person or phone consultations. Selected participants will receive cognitive rehabilitation training at the Bangbae Public Health Center once a week for about 25 minutes per session, up to 20 times per year, free of charge. For more information, contact the occupational therapy room at the Bangbae Public Health Center (02-2155-8584).

District Mayor Jeon Seongsoo stated, "I hope the introduction of this system will provide practical help in improving the quality of life and brain health for people with disabilities," and added, "We will continue to discover and develop customized programs for the brain health of people with disabilities in the future."
