The suspect who was arrested for kicking and damaging a Tesla Cybertruck, an electric pickup truck worth approximately 100 million won, on the streets of Gangnam, Seoul, has been identified as a Chinese tourist.

On April 22, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that Mr. A, who is in his 30s and faces charges of property damage, obstruction of business, and special assault, is a Chinese national who entered the country on a tourist visa.


After entering South Korea on a tourist visa, Mr. A is accused of kicking and breaking the side mirror of a Cybertruck owned by a hospital in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam District, at around 2 a.m. on April 15, before fleeing the scene.

Mr. A is also suspected of causing a disturbance before and after the incident by kicking and damaging the doors of four test-drive vehicles at a nearby BMW dealership and assaulting a hotel employee.


The police apprehended Mr. A on April 19 and detained him the following day.
