Han: "The Only Person Free from Martial Law Attacks by the Democratic Party"
Former People Power Party leader Han Donghun, immediately after advancing through the first primary on the 22nd, appealed for overwhelming support, emphasizing that he is the only person who can defeat former Democratic Party leader Lee Jaemyung.
On the afternoon of the same day, Han wrote on Facebook, "Thanks to your support, I have passed the first primary. I deeply appreciate your encouragement and support," as he called for continued backing.
Addressing the public and party members, he said, "I ask everyone to do your utmost to unite your strength on the path to protect the present and future of the Republic of Korea," and stressed, "Now, the fate of our People Power Party and the future of Korea depend on the upcoming primaries."
Han further described himself as "the only person free from any martial law attacks by Lee Jaemyung's Democratic Party; the person who can confidently speak of 'generational change' in the face of 'power rotation' where martial law and impeachment swap places; and the person who can present a vision for a 'real economy' that ushers in an era of a growing middle class, in opposition to the 'fake economy' that scatters money by taking on debt." He asserted, "The only winning choice is me, Han Donghun."
He went on to say, "Starting from the 29th, please select me, Han Donghun, even more overwhelmingly so that our party can immediately unite and confront Lee Jaemyung and the Democratic Party. Together with you, I will definitely defeat the Democratic Party and Lee Jaemyung. We will win," reiterating his request for support.
He also expressed his sincere consolation to Representative Na Kyungwon, former lawmaker Yang Hyangja, Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeongbok, and North Gyeongsang Governor Lee Cheolwoo, who were eliminated in the primary.
Immediately after the 12·3 Martial Law Declaration, Han led pro-Han lawmakers to the National Assembly and helped pass a resolution demanding the lifting of martial law. He also supported the passage of the impeachment bill against former President Yoon Sukyeol.
Han announced that if he becomes president, he will push for a constitutional referendum alongside the 2028 general election and then step down. He also pledged to include in the constitutional amendment a four-year presidential term with one re-election, the abolition of proportional representation for lawmakers, and the establishment of a bicameral legislature.
Recently, he also presented the 3·4·7 Future Growth Vision, which includes Korea's leap to become one of the top three AI (Artificial Intelligence) countries (G3), raising national income to $40,000, and expanding the middle class to 70%.
On this day, Han also announced the Five Mega-Polis Initiative, stating that he would create five Seouls by dispersing concentration in the capital region through a two-year National Land Infrastructure Comprehensive Development Plan and strengthening industrial and living environments.
