Hong Joonpyo: "Will Prepare for Main Election by Securing 51% in Second Primary"

Hong: "I Will Lay the Foundation for the 7th Republic and Usher in an Era of an Advanced Great Nation"

Former Daegu Mayor Hong Joonpyo stated on April 22, "I will do my best in the final four primary, secure a direct ticket to the finals with 51%, and immediately begin preparations for the main election."

After the announcement of the results of the People Power Party's first primary that afternoon, Hong expressed his gratitude on Facebook, saying, "I sincerely thank the public for their support, which allowed me to reach the final four in the national sample poll of 20,000 people."

He also offered words of consolation to Representative Na Kyungwon, former lawmaker Yang Hyangja, Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeongbok, and North Gyeongsang Governor Lee Cheolwoo, who were eliminated in the first round, saying, "I extend my deepest sympathy to the candidates who narrowly missed advancing."

In addition, he emphasized, "I will surely lay the foundation for Hong Joonpyo's nation and the 7th Republic, and usher in an era of an advanced great nation."

Previously, on April 9, Hong resigned from his position as Daegu Mayor to run for president, making a decisive commitment.

Hong has pledged to usher in the era of the 7th Republic, promising constitutional revision and the abolition of the Constitutional Court. Recently, he also announced his "Welfare Innovation 100+1" pledge, which includes expanding the child allowance to age 15, creating 2 million public jobs for seniors, and introducing half-price hospitals for the elderly.

He also promised to reinstate the death penalty for heinous criminals, implement a 100% College Scholastic Ability Test-based admissions system, and supply 1 million housing units through reconstruction and redevelopment.
