Opening of the First Branch at Chilgok (Seoul-bound) Rest Area on the Gyeongbu Expressway
Children-Only Library Now Available
The Daegu Gyeongbuk Headquarters of Korea Expressway Corporation announced on April 22 that it has opened the first branch of the children's-only 'Love Children Library' at the Chilgok (Seoul-bound) rest area on the Gyeongbu Expressway.

This library opening is a project promoted in cooperation with the local community. The library provides book lending and exchange services, creating a space where children can foster their imagination and creativity.
The 'Love Children Library' houses more than 3,000 children's books, including biographies, science, arts, and physical education. It is expected to serve as a beneficial resting place for customers with young children by offering a diverse selection of books.
The Daegu Gyeongbuk Headquarters of Korea Expressway Corporation received a donation of 2,000 books through a business agreement with the Gyeongsangbuk-do Office of Education Chilgok Library and the Saemaeul Library Association Chilgok Branch. Employees of the Korea Expressway Corporation also participated by donating about 1,000 books. The headquarters plans to continue receiving donations of more than 2,000 books annually in the future.
A representative from the Daegu Gyeongbuk Headquarters of Korea Expressway Corporation stated, "We expect the Love Children Library to provide a new cultural experience for families using the expressway and to contribute to addressing the issues of low birth rates and population decline." The representative added, "We will continue to open at least three more libraries within this year to create a rest area culture where customers can be happy."
Meanwhile, following the opening of the first branch of the 'Love Children Library,' the Daegu Gyeongbuk Headquarters plans to establish the second branch at the Chilgok (Busan-bound) rest area. The headquarters also aims to further enhance convenience for expressway users by introducing an integrated lending service available in both directions.
