Reviewing Request for Arrest Warrant and Investigating Possible Accomplices
The police have summoned a man in his 30s suspected of throwing an egg at Baek Hyeryun, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea.
The Jongno Police Station in Seoul announced on the 22nd that they had summoned and questioned the suspect, identified as Mr. A, regarding these allegations.
Mr. A is accused of throwing eggs at Baek Hyeryun and other Democratic Party lawmakers during a press conference in front of the Constitutional Court in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the morning of the 20th of last month, and then fleeing the scene.
The police reportedly secured CCTV footage from a nearby convenience store showing a man purchasing eggs, and they are investigating whether this individual is the same person as Mr. A. In addition, the police are considering requesting an arrest warrant for Mr. A and are also checking whether there were any accomplices involved.
