Visit to China Ahead of High-Level Talks with the United States
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to visit China to discuss developments in nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States, as well as other international issues.
Guo Jiaqun, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced at a regular briefing on the 22nd that Foreign Minister Araghchi will visit China on the 23rd.
He stated, "Through this visit, the two countries will engage in in-depth discussions not only on bilateral relations but also on major international issues of mutual interest. This visit carries significant importance in implementing key consensuses reached between the leaders of both countries, strengthening political trust, and promoting cooperation in various fields."
Previously, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs had announced that Minister Araghchi would visit China on the 22nd to consult on recent progress in the Iran-U.S. nuclear negotiations.
Major foreign news outlets have reported that Minister Araghchi's visit to China is scheduled ahead of the third high-level meeting between Iran and the United States, which is set to take place on the 26th.
