Providing Overseas Training Opportunities for Economically and Socially Disadvantaged Students
Daegu Catholic University has been selected as a participating university for the '2025 Blue Ladder Project,' organized by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Student Aid Foundation.

The Blue Ladder Project is a program that supports students from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds by providing them with opportunities for overseas training, thereby helping them strengthen their global competencies and explore career paths.
Daegu Catholic University plans to select a total of 40 students?34 from its own student body and 6 from other universities?to participate in a training program at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) in Canada for approximately four weeks.
All training expenses for participating students will be covered (excluding local transportation and personal living expenses). Eligible participants include students from basic livelihood recipient households, students from lower-income families, students with disabilities, North Korean defectors, and students from multicultural families.
For this project, a total budget of 184.5 million KRW has been allocated, including 160 million KRW in government subsidies and 24.5 million KRW in operating expenses. Daegu Catholic University has also contributed an additional 48.8 million KRW, securing a total project budget of 233.3 million KRW.
The training will take place from June 23 to July 19, and will include practical language training at the ESL Center as well as various international programs, such as visits to the Global Startup Incubator (DMZ).
Pre-training sessions will cover career development, special lectures by distinguished speakers, mentoring, language education, education on the history and culture of the host country, and safety and sexual violence prevention training.
Daegu Catholic University plans to provide information about the project in April and select the final participants through document screening and interviews in early May.
