In an interview with the company's newsroom, Vice President Do said, "Ultimately, we aim for a greater goal of building an 'intelligent enterprise' that goes beyond smart factories by optimizing and enhancing intelligence across the entire corporate value chain, including not only manufacturing but also research and development, supply chain management, marketing, and customer support."

Vice President Do received the Bronze Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit in the information and communications sector at the '2025 Science and ICT Day Commemoration Ceremony' held the previous day. He was recognized for establishing a smart factory system based on AI and digital transformation (DT), which strengthened the market competitiveness of high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and memory products, and elevated the technological capabilities of Korea's manufacturing industry.

Vice President Do is a manufacturing IT technology expert with 27 years of experience. He joined SK Hynix in 2020 and has been leading the digital transformation of manufacturing sites. His key achievement is the development of a smart factory system tailored for HBM.

He said, "Due to the explosive increase in HBM demand, it was not easy to meet customer needs, so the back-end process organization and DT team established a hybrid production system utilizing existing package line equipment." He added, "Through this, we maximized production flexibility, responded to HBM demand without large-scale additional equipment investment, and contributed to increased sales."

He continued, "With the customized smart factory system for HBM, we improved productivity in bottleneck processes by 31% and enhanced yield in critical processes by 21%." He further stated, "As a result, we made a significant contribution to increasing HBM sales by 4.5 times compared to the previous year."

He also played a role in introducing new design simulation techniques for the development of future products such as HBM4, the sixth generation of HBM, drastically shortening development periods and laying the groundwork for maintaining technological leadership.

Another major achievement was building a system that enables the sharing and collaboration of expensive extreme ultraviolet (EUV) equipment?core to memory manufacturing?across multiple production lines, research organizations, and overseas manufacturing subsidiaries without physically relocating the equipment.

Vice President Do emphasized, "To achieve a fully AI-powered smart factory across all areas of manufacturing, relentless challenges and innovation without fear of failure, as well as meticulousness to minimize trial and error, are essential."

SK Hynix stated, "Vice President Do has led manufacturing IT innovation and developed a smart factory system, successfully completing an AI-based digital transformation." The company added, "Going forward, we plan to continue developing and applying these systems to manufacturing sites to improve productivity and quality of major products and to solidify our market leadership."
