Chungnam Research Institute Holds Seminar on Volatile Organic Compounds Management Strategies

On April 22, the Chungnam Research Institute held a technical seminar at the Cheonan-Asan KTX conference room titled "Technical Seminar for Discovering Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) Management Policies in Chungcheongnam-do," where participants discussed effective management measures centered on the Daesan Petrochemical Complex.

At the seminar, Senior Researcher Kim Jongbeom emphasized the importance of diagnosis using advanced measurement equipment, stating, "While we have exceeded our targets for PM2.5 and NOx, the results for VOCs have been insufficient, which means more precise management is necessary."

The seminar featured a variety of experts, including those from the National Institute of Environmental Research and the Nakdong River Basin Environmental Office, who presented and discussed cases of utilizing advanced observation equipment and policies for reducing VOCs.

Meanwhile, the Chungnam Research Institute is currently formulating the "Chungcheongnam-do Air Quality Management Implementation Plan (2025-2029)," which will serve as a core strategy for improving air quality in the province over the next five years.
