Cafe Byeolmuri Second Branch Opens at Independence Hall in South Chungcheong Province

A Collaborative Space for Seniors, Youth, and Women Returning to Work

Cafe Byeolmuri Second Branch Opens at Independence Hall in South Chungcheong Province The Cafe Byeolmuri Branch 2 at the Independence Hall held an opening ceremony and began operations as an integrated generation job.

The second branch of Cafe Byeolmuri, established by South Chungcheong Province to create integrated generation jobs, has opened and begun full-scale operations.

On April 22, at the Gyeoraeui House in the Independence Hall in Cheonan, the province held an opening ceremony for the Cafe Byeolmuri Independence Hall Branch. The event was attended by over 40 key figures, including Kim Eunsook, Director of the Senior Policy Division of the province, Kim Chanbae, President of the Chungnam Economic Promotion Agency, Kim Hyungseok, Director of the Independence Hall, and Yoon Sungmin, CEO of The Bake.

Cafe Byeolmuri was established as part of the province's eighth civil administration pledge to create integrated generation jobs, providing a space where seniors, young people, and women with career interruptions can work together and thrive.

For Cafe Byeolmuri, the province provided an initial investment subsidy of 40 million won, and the Independence Hall offered the space free of charge. Cheonan Senior Club manages and operates the cafe in connection with senior jobs, while The Bake is responsible for overall cafe operations, supporting 100 million won for interior and facility investments as well as labor costs.

Currently, the second branch of Cafe Byeolmuri employs eight seniors and two women with career interruptions. In the future, the branch will have twelve seniors and three to four young people or women with career interruptions working together.

The first branch, which opened in April last year at the Chungnam Economic Promotion Agency, currently employs three seniors, one young person, and one woman with a career interruption, establishing itself as an integrated generation job model.

A provincial official stated, "Cafe Byeolmuri is more than just a job provider; it is a meaningful space where seniors and young people can interact, fostering communication and cooperation between generations. We will continue to develop and expand job models that enable various generations to thrive together."
