The Citizen Planning Group will participate in the process of establishing the urban master plan and will play a role in proposing the future vision, direction, and sector-specific policies for Goyang Special City.
The city plans to incorporate the 2040 future vision, goals, strategic plans, sector-specific objectives, and implementation strategies proposed by the Citizen Planning Group into the 2040 Goyang Urban Master Plan.
Any resident of Goyang, regardless of age, is eligible to participate in the Citizen Planning Group. The application period runs until April 30. Interested citizens can download the application form from the Goyang City Hall website under 'Goyang News (Latest News)' and submit it in person to the Urban Planning Policy Division at City Hall, or send it by mail, email, or fax.
The city plans to operate the Citizen Planning Group in various subcommittees to propose future directions for major urban sectors of Goyang Special City, including urban planning, transportation, environment, public safety, culture, welfare, tourism, and self-sufficiency.
The city will select participants by considering factors such as region, age, gender, and preferred sector. Selected citizens will be notified individually. The Citizen Planning Group will serve as unpaid honorary positions starting in May and will participate in a total of four meetings.
Lee Donghwan, Mayor of Goyang Special City, stated, "I am pleased to be able to take the first step in establishing the 2040 Urban Master Plan together with our citizens," adding, "I expect that, with the creativity of the Citizen Planning Group and their love for Goyang Special City, we will be able to establish a vision for the city's future and a long-term plan."
