Goheung County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Gong Youngmin) participated in the "2025 Daejeon Science Festival," held from April 16 to 20 at the Daejeon Convention Center and Expo Science Park, widely promoting its status as a space aviation hub city and successfully concluding the "Goheung Space Aviation Festival and Goheung County Promotion Exhibition."
The Goheung County exhibition booth, operated under the theme "Special Exhibition of Astronaut Experience," attracted many visitors and received an enthusiastic response. Visitors had the rare opportunity to see and experience actual astronaut equipment seldom seen in Korea. In particular, the display of more than 20 types of real space equipment, including the Soyuz spacecraft exterior, space food, and emergency survival gear, proved especially popular.

In addition, Goheung’s space aviation docents, the first of their kind in the country, provided professional explanations in the exhibition zone to help visitors better understand and spark their interest in space. Visitors of all ages were able to learn about space science in an easy and engaging way through the docents' explanations, and curious reactions were observed throughout the venue.
At this event, the county also promoted the upcoming "Goheung Space Aviation Festival," scheduled for May, and actively carried out promotional activities to encourage more visitors to come and experience Goheung’s space aviation resources firsthand.
A county official stated, "Through our participation in the Daejeon Science Festival, we were able to demonstrate that Goheung is the only space aviation hub city in Korea," adding, "We will continue to develop the space launch vehicle industry centered on the Naro Space Center and further solidify our image as a space aviation hub city through a variety of events such as the Space Aviation Festival."
