City Office of Education Holds Early Admission Application Strategy Training
Strengthening Support to Address Admissions Variables
Homeroom teachers for third-year high school students in Gwangju have begun providing full-scale college entrance guidance in preparation for the increasingly complex 2026 college admissions process.
On the previous day, the Gwangju Office of Education announced on the 22nd that it held an "Early Admission Application Strategy Training" for about 400 third-year homeroom teachers. During the training, the office shared strategies for preparing for both the academic record-based and comprehensive admissions processes, as well as application strategies tailored to each university and academic field.

This year's college admissions involve a variety of variables, including an increase in the number of third-year students, changes in medical school quotas, the introduction of majorless admissions, expansion of advanced academic programs, and more universities abolishing the mandatory science subject requirement. These factors have made the role of homeroom teachers more important than ever. The Office of Education plans to continue providing support programs through June, including admissions officer briefings, career and college fairs, and customized counseling.
Superintendent Lee Jungseon stated, "In a situation with many admissions variables, we will actively support students so that they can pursue higher education stably through the guidance of their homeroom teachers."
