Simulation Drills for High-Risk Accident Types in Eco Delta City Phase 3
Preventing Major Accidents Through Fall Response Drills and More

This simulation drill was carried out under the scenario in which, during the assembly of steel bridge components for a bridge crossing a river, a worker climbing a ladder to the top of an abutment wall lost balance and fell to the ground due to the ladder not being secured.
BMC verified its initial response capabilities, including rapid dissemination of information in the event of an accident, emergency measures in accordance with the safety accident response manual, urgent hospital transfer, and on-site control to prevent secondary accidents. The company also focused on checking and confirming the roles and preparedness of the situation control team, facility recovery team, guidance team, and emergency rescue team.
After the drill, construction supervisors, the construction project management team, and representatives from the construction company jointly analyzed the causes of the accident, established measures to prevent recurrence, and discussed issues and improvement plans identified during the simulation process.
Busan Urban Corporation plans to further strengthen its construction accident response capabilities in the second half of this year by expanding simulation drills to cover a variety of high-risk accident types at construction sites, including falls, collisions, entrapments, fires (firefighting), as well as emergency evacuations and seasonal illnesses.
Shin Changho, President of Busan Urban Corporation, stated, "In addition to this site, we will conduct a variety of simulation drills tailored to major accident types at all BMC business sites to build rapid and systematic response capabilities. We will also do our utmost to prevent safety accidents by analyzing the various types of accidents that have been occurring frequently at construction sites nationwide, strengthening internal inspections, and establishing and implementing measures to prevent recurrence."
