Professional Training and Mentoring Program Offered
The Daejeon Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency announced that it is recruiting writers to participate in the 4th Web Novel Create Academy, part of the 2025 Daejeon Contents Korea Lab, a startup support program in the content sector, until May 9.
The academy will offer web novel education and mentoring over three months starting from the fourth week of May, with professional producers from Storywiz, a KT subsidiary, leading the sessions.
Up to 50 fantasy web novel writers, whether newcomers or established authors, who require specialized web novel training or mentoring, will be selected based on document eligibility, participation, and manuscript bonus points. The selected writers will first strengthen their basic skills through two online foundational training sessions.
After the training, approximately 16 writers will be chosen through manuscript review. These writers will then participate in a total of 10 advanced training and mentoring sessions, including eight in-depth mentoring sessions and two offline lectures, to further develop their careers as writers.
The selected writers will receive free support for the entire web novel process, including education, mentoring, and editing. Outstanding writers will also be given the opportunity to debut through a serialization contract with Blythe, a web novel platform.
Lee Eunhak, Director of the Daejeon Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency, said, "I hope that aspiring web novel writers will be able to achieve their dreams of becoming authors through the Web Novel Create Academy program."
