On April 22 at 7 p.m., the People Power Party will announce the four finalists who will advance to the second round of the 6·3 early presidential election primary. The eight preliminary candidates are intensifying their policy proposals and on-site activities until the last minute in order to survive the first cutoff.

The People Power Party’s Election Management Committee will announce the four candidates advancing to the second round of the presidential primary based on the average results of sample surveys conducted by five polling agencies, each surveying 800 members of the general public, for a total of 4,000 respondents. While former Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Moonsoo, former People Power Party leader Han Donghoon, and former Daegu Mayor Hong Joonpyo have formed a leading trio in various opinion polls, Representative Na Kyungwon, who opposed the impeachment, and Representative Ahn Cheolsoo, who supported the impeachment, are in a close race for the fourth spot.

On the morning of April 22, former Minister Kim held a policy announcement event titled "Upright Moonsoo’s 9 a.m. Policy Briefing" at his Yeouido campaign office in Seoul, where he unveiled real estate policy pledges targeting young people, such as establishing half-price monthly rent zones near universities. His proposal aims to ease real estate regulations, including building coverage and floor area ratios for studio apartments near university areas, in order to supply studio rentals at lower prices than currently available.

At 9:40 a.m., former leader Han held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Center, pledging to implement a two-year comprehensive national infrastructure development plan, attract major industries, create livable environments, and foster advanced talent to establish five mega-cities capable of competing with Seoul.

Former Mayor Hong, who has announced 100 reform measures for South Korea, appeared on the conservative YouTube channel GosungukTV to explain his policy vision and plans to visit the Korean Medical Association to discuss pending issues such as resolving conflicts between the government and the medical community.

Representative Na, following her visit to Daegu the previous day, plans to visit Busan and Ulsan to meet with Busan Mayor Park Hyungjoon, Ulsan Mayor Kim Dukyum, and local journalists to discuss regional issues, as well as to visit Jagalchi Market and Sinjeong Market to address livelihood concerns.

Representative Ahn is scheduled to appear on Daegu KBS and CBS radio programs, where he will criticize preliminary candidates who opposed former President Yoon Sukyeol’s impeachment and emphasize that, as a talent suited to the era of artificial intelligence (AI), he is the candidate capable of defeating former Democratic Party leader Lee Jaemyung.

Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeongbok and North Gyeongsang Governor Lee Cheolwoo will each fulfill media and local schedules, respectively, on April 22, appealing to conservative voters until the end. Former Representative Yang Hyangja plans to meet Seoul Mayor Oh Sehoon at Seoul City Hall to discuss support for the underprivileged, aiming to attract centrist and conservative voters.
