On the 21st, Kim Youngjin, the newly appointed chairman, delivered his inaugural speech at the Korea Legal Aid Corporation headquarters in Gimcheon, Gyeongbuk.
Kim Youngjin, the newly appointed chairman of the Korea Legal Aid Corporation, stated that he would do his utmost to protect the rights of the socially and economically disadvantaged.
Chairman Kim made this statement during his inauguration ceremony held on the morning of the 21st at the Korea Legal Aid Corporation headquarters in Yulgok-dong, Gimcheon, Gyeongbuk.
In his inaugural speech, Chairman Kim said, "We will become a competent corporation that is faithful to the basics and principles, doing our utmost to protect the legitimate rights of the socially and economically disadvantaged." He added, "In particular, we will prioritize our clients, treat those who visit the corporation with greater kindness and consideration, and thoroughly manage follow-up services to raise public satisfaction and do our best to achieve the ultimate resolution of disputes."
He went on to say, "By listening to the voices of our members and working together as one team, we will create an environment where everyone can work comfortably and happily."
Chairman Kim also remarked, "With the advancement of technology, including artificial intelligence, and the increase in the number of lawyers, the legal sector is facing challenges and changes." He continued, "We will identify blind spots where legal support is needed and build a flexible and highly professional corporation that provides practical help to the public."
Chairman Kim graduated from Kyunghee High School in Seoul and the Department of Law at Korea University, and completed the 21st Judicial Research and Training Institute program. In 1992, he was appointed as a prosecutor at the Seoul District Prosecutors' Office Eastern Branch. He has held key positions in major investigative and planning departments of the prosecution and the Ministry of Justice, as well as serving as a spokesperson.
He served as a prosecutor at the Gangneung Branch of the Chuncheon District Prosecutors' Office, the Seoul District Prosecutors' Office, the Busan District Prosecutors' Office, and the Northern Branch of the Seoul District Prosecutors' Office. In 2000, he was dispatched to the Joint Task Force on Public Fund Corruption at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, and in 2002, to the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Special Investigation Team for Insolvent Companies.
He also served as Head of the Criminal Division 3 at the Ulsan District Prosecutors' Office, Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, Chief Prosecutor at the Jecheon Branch of the Cheongju District Prosecutors' Office, Head of the Criminal Division 2 and the Organized Crime Division at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, and Head of the Violent Crime Division at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office. From August 2010 to September 2011, he served as spokesperson for the Ministry of Justice.
Afterwards, Chairman Kim served as Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the Ansan Branch of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office, Director of Crime Information Planning at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, and First Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office. Since 2016, he has worked as a lawyer at Kim & Chang Law Office.
