"Enjoy the Five Premier Chateaux by the Glass"... Hyundai Department Store Opens 'Glass Wine Bar' at Apgujeong Main Branch Customers are enjoying the five premier chateaux, considered the finest wines, by the glass at the 'Premium Glass Wine Bar' located on the B1 floor of Hyundai Department Store Apgujeong Main Branch. Provided by Hyundai Department Store.

At the Premium Glass Wine Bar, the five premier chateaux?each of which is priced at well over 2 million won per bottle at high-end restaurants?are served in 30ml glass portions. The glass wine menu includes: 'Chateau Lafite Rothschild' (2020, 89,000 won), 'Chateau Latour' (2017, 84,000 won), 'Chateau Mouton Rothschild' (2021, 82,000 won), 'Chateau Margaux' (2021, 81,000 won), and 'Chateau Haut-Brion' (2021, 77,000 won). A tasting set that allows guests to enjoy all five chateaux at once (372,000 won) is also available as a separate menu, along with an amuse-bouche (12,000 won) to stimulate the palate.

At the wine bar, sommelier Park Sungmin measures exactly 30ml per glass using a scale before serving each wine. Guests also receive a tasting note written from the sommelier's perspective, describing the structure, aroma, and finish of each wine. The back of the note is designed as a 'My Note' section, allowing customers to record their own impressions, catering to wine enthusiasts who wish to keep a personal tasting journal.

To ensure optimal flavor and freshness, all wines are poured exclusively using Coravin equipment, which does not require removing the cork. Coravin works by inserting an ultra-fine needle through the cork and injecting argon gas, creating a vacuum inside the bottle while simultaneously extracting the wine.

The amuse-bouche menu, developed by chef Park Sungho, is designed to awaken the palate without compromising the unique aromas of each wine. The bite-sized dishes combine ingredients such as Korean beef, sea urchin, flatfish, chicken, and charcuterie. Special care has been taken to balance and harmonize the ingredients, maximizing the mouthfeel when paired with wine.

A Hyundai Department Store representative stated, "Even among the Premium Glass Wine Bar menu, the tasting set featuring the five premier chateaux as a package has never been attempted in the department store industry, as it is difficult to sustain without consistent demand for the highest quality wines." The representative added, "The increasing number of customers visiting the Apgujeong Main Branch for unique experiences reflects this trend, and we plan to continue offering differentiated services that fulfill the desire for ultra-fine dining."
