'Seodaemun-gu Children's Festival' to Be Held at 'Cafe Pokpo' on May 5

Seodaemun-gu in Seoul (Mayor Lee Sungheon) will host the "2025 Seodaemun-gu Children's Festival" on May 5, Children's Day, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The event will take place at the plaza of "Cafe Pokpo" (262-24 Yeonhui-ro) and along a 300-meter stretch of the Hongjecheon stream, from Baengnyeon Bridge to Hongyeon Bridge.

The laughter festival returns with the "2025 Seodaemun-gu Children's Festival," which will be held on the 5th of next month. Provided by Seodaemun-gu.

This festival, which attracts over 20,000 visitors each year, will be centered around the "Cafe Pokpo" plaza, a global landmark, and is expected to draw even greater interest. On this day, a total of 40 booths will be set up across four zones (performance, play, experience, and food), offering fun and excitement for children and their families.

At the "Performance Zone," visitors can enjoy taekwondo demonstrations, cheerleading, magic shows, and bubble shows. The "Play Zone" will feature a mini train, ride-on dinosaurs, kids' riders, electronic arcade games (shooting, fishing, whack-a-mole), instant photo booths, and hands-on experiences with police and firefighting equipment.

The "Experience Zone" will offer a variety of activities to spark children's curiosity, including storytelling, hair art, tattoo art, face painting, animal candle making, a world travel stamp tour, CPR training, and VR safety education. All programs are free and open to everyone without prior registration.

Mayor Lee Sungheon stated, "I hope that this festival, held in the 'Cafe Pokpo' plaza and along the Hongjecheon stream where nature and people come together, will create precious memories for children and offer a healing time for families."

The "2025 Seodaemun-gu Children's Festival" is hosted and organized by the Seoul Youth Filial Piety Volunteer Corps, with support from Seodaemun-gu Office, Seodaemun Police Station, Seodaemun Fire Station, and Woncheon Church. On the day of the festival, the "Cafe Pokpo" parking lot will be used as part of the event space, so visitors are encouraged to use public transportation.
