Identifying 13 Policy Initiatives and 25 Detailed Projects Worth 20 Trillion Won
Leading the Design of Korea's Future
Andong City in Gyeongbuk announced that it has formed the "21st Presidential Election Pledge Task Force" (hereinafter referred to as the Task Force), which aims to drive both national development and regional growth, and has identified a large-scale project worth 20 trillion won.
Andong City, Gyeongbuk, forms a task force for the 21st presidential election pledges to lead the national leap forward.
The Task Force, led by the Deputy Mayor, has selected key policy initiatives to spearhead innovative growth for both the nation and the region. The project consists of a total of 13 policy initiatives and 25 detailed projects, with a total budget of approximately 20 trillion won.
Major projects include: the establishment of a medical school at Kyungpook National University; the relocation of the Korea Military Academy; the construction of a wide-area water supply system for the Nakdong River basin (Andong-Daegu-Busan); the K-Hemp full-cycle industrialization project; the creation of the Gyeongbuk 4G Bio Industrialization Cluster; the development of an advanced industry and logistics complex supporting the integrated Daegu-Gyeongbuk new airport; the development of a national east-west arterial corridor; the Forest Security and Mountain Leisure Mega Initiative; and the establishment of a national control tower for population crisis response policies.
Andong City Mayor Kwon Ki-chang stated, "This Task Force goes beyond simply identifying regional pledges; it is a significant initiative to design a sustainable future for the Republic of Korea." He added, "Through strategic projects with feasibility and broad impact, we will present a vision for both the region and the nation."
Andong City completed its first round of pledge proposals to Gyeongsangbuk-do in mid-April and plans to actively promote its projects so that they may be adopted as presidential election pledges by each candidate in the upcoming election.
