Equestrians Gather in Sangju... 22nd Minister's Cup National Recreational Equestrian Competition Concludes Successfully

Vitalizing the Local Economy Through Hosting Nationwide Competitions at Sangju International Equestrian Stadium

The 22nd Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister's Cup National Recreational Equestrian Competition was held from April 11 to 20 at the Sangju International Equestrian Stadium in Gyeongbuk. Hosted and organized by the Korea Equestrian Federation, this was the first nationwide equestrian event held at the Sangju International Equestrian Stadium this year.

During the competition, a variety of events took place, including show jumping, dressage, and youth competitions. The event was a great success, with over 3,000 participants including athletes, officials, and families, as well as more than 500 horses.


Starting with this competition, the Sangju International Equestrian Stadium plans to host more than 10 nationwide equestrian events this year alone. Through these efforts, the stadium aims to revitalize the equestrian industry and contribute to the local economy by attracting tourists.


Jung Seokchan, Director of the Sangju International Equestrian Stadium Management Office, said, "We are pleased to have successfully concluded the first competition of the year," and added, "We will continue to attract nationwide equestrian events to enhance Sangju's reputation as an equestrian city and do our utmost to contribute to the development of the equestrian industry."


Sangju City, with the nation's largest horse breeding base, is striving to become a leading equestrian city by expanding its equestrian infrastructure and attracting major competitions.
