Summary of 113 Major Welfare Projects in 12 Key Areas for Frontline Workers
Additional Tips from Senior Officials, Including Guidelines for Visiting "Suspected Solitary Death" Households
Dongdaemun District (District Mayor Lee Pilhyeong) announced on April 21 that it has published the "2025 Dongdaemun Social Welfare Work Manual."
The "Welfare Work Manual" is a work guideline that the district has published since 2016 to help social welfare officials easily understand major welfare projects and apply them in practice.
This year’s edition covers a total of 113 major welfare projects across 12 categories. It is organized to provide an intuitive understanding of the workflow and relevant laws for a variety of policies, including support for low-income households, protection of families in crisis, childbirth and childcare, and housing welfare.
The manual also reflects recent social welfare issues and updated policy content, including support for single-person and isolated households, guidelines for home visits to prevent solitary deaths, daily care services, and the National Mental Health Investment Support Project.
In particular, practical tips from experienced officials are included to strengthen the manual’s function as a hands-on "field guide," going beyond a simple policy booklet.
District Mayor Lee Pilhyeong stated, "I hope this will help frontline workers adapt more easily to their duties and provide attentive welfare services to residents."
