Jensen Huang Meets Prime Minister Ishiba: "AI Robots Will Spark a Revolution in Japanese Companies"

Jensen Huang, CEO of the American semiconductor company Nvidia, who is currently visiting Japan, reportedly told Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba on the 21st that "a revolution will occur in Japanese companies" with regard to artificial intelligence (AI) robots.


According to the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, during a meeting at the Prime Minister's Office, Prime Minister Ishiba said, "Cooperation between the United States and Japan is essential to use robotics technology for human happiness. I would like to hear your thoughts on how the government can provide support." In response, CEO Huang made these remarks.

Prime Minister Ishiba also expressed that digital technology is crucial for promoting innovation in regional areas, emphasizing the importance of utilizing generative AI to revitalize local economies.


Bloomberg News reported that, speaking with reporters afterward, CEO Huang said, "AI will radically transform every industry in the future?including healthcare, manufacturing, education, and agriculture?and we discussed how these changes will unfold."


He explained that "AI requires massive amounts of energy, so Japan will need to build infrastructure for AI, and this will lead to the creation of new jobs and opportunities."


CEO Huang arrived in Japan after visiting China. Nvidia is currently working to strengthen its cooperation with Japan, centering on SoftBank Group, led by Chairman Masayoshi Son.
