SH Corporation to Hold "Policy Discussion for Safe Housing for All" on the 24th

Exploring Strategies to Promote Safe Housing

Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation), the Seoul Metropolitan Council, and the Korea Planners Association will jointly host a policy forum titled "Policy Discussion for Safe Housing for All" on April 24 in Meeting Room 2 of the Seoul Metropolitan Council.

This forum has been organized to discuss ways to promote "Safe Housing for All" in response to demographic changes such as low birth rates, housing insecurity among young people, and the transition to a super-aged society.

Safe Housing is a new public housing model that integrates the development and supply of safe housing and rental dormitories for young people, seniors, and newlyweds, based on the Special Act on Private Rental Housing.

At the forum, Kim Kijung, Senior Researcher at the SH Urban Research Institute, will present on "Characteristics of Safe Housing for Young People and Future Directions for Improvement," while Seo Wonseok, Professor at Chung-Ang University, will give a presentation on "Understanding Housing for the Elderly Abroad and Policy Implications: Focusing on the United States."

The subsequent panel discussion will focus on strategies and practical measures to promote Safe Housing. Kim Taesu, Chair of the Housing and Space Committee of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, will serve as moderator. The panel will include Lee Changhyo, Professor at Hanbat National University; Lee Junghoon, Head of External Relations at IGIS Asset Management; Kim Jonggil, Member of the Housing and Space Committee of the Seoul Metropolitan Council; Kim Byungyeon, Director of the SH Urban Research Institute; and Choi Wonseok, Head of the Strategic Housing Supply Division at the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

Hwang Sangha, President of SH Corporation, stated, "Safe Housing for All is an important public housing policy that reflects the characteristics and housing needs of each generation," adding, "We hope this forum will yield practical solutions to revitalize the initiative."
