Equivalent to 68% of the Legal Fundraising Limit
Han Donghoon, former leader and a presidential hopeful from the People Power Party, announced on April 21 that he had raised over 2 billion won in donations within just five hours.
Han's campaign stated in a press release that "as of 2:03 p.m., the fundraising total surpassed 2 billion won." This amount represents approximately 68% of the legal fundraising cap of 2.94 billion won.
Earlier, Han's fundraising committee began accepting donations at 9 a.m. that day and exceeded 1.175 billion won within just one hour, by 10 a.m.

The speed of fundraising by a candidate is often seen as a measure of their popularity in an election. When Han ran for party leader at the People Power Party convention in July last year, he reached the 150 million won fundraising limit just 8 minutes and 50 seconds after opening the donation account.
For this year's June 3 early presidential election, the fundraising committee for Lee Jaemyung, the leading candidate and former leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, reached the legal cap of 2.94 billion won on the very first day of fundraising, April 15.
Park Sangsoo, spokesperson for Han's campaign, encouraged further donations on his Facebook page, saying, "Lee took a whole day to reach the goal?let's achieve ours by midnight today."
