Hyundai Motor Company Expands Employment for People with Disabilities... Partners with Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities

Signing of MOU to Promote Employment of Persons with Disabilities on April 21

Hyundai Motor Company is taking the lead in expanding employment opportunities for people with disabilities by partnering with the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities.


On April 21, Hyundai Motor Company announced that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for "Promoting Employment of Persons with Disabilities and Practicing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Management for Job Creation for Persons with Disabilities" with the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities. The signing ceremony was held at Hyundai Motor Company's Yangjae headquarters in Seocho-gu, Seoul.


The signing ceremony, which took place the day after the 45th Day of Persons with Disabilities (April 20 each year), was attended by Lee Jongseong, President of the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities, Kim Hyein, Executive Vice President and Head of HR at Hyundai Motor Company, as well as other representatives from both organizations.


Through this agreement, Hyundai Motor Company and the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities will establish a cooperative system to continuously expand and stabilize employment for people with disabilities. They also agreed to work together to create a disability-friendly work environment and foster a foundation for positive awareness.


Hyundai Motor Company will fulfill its corporate social responsibility by expanding the recruitment of people with disabilities, including the special permanent recruitment program for persons with disabilities being implemented this year, and by providing high-quality job opportunities.


The Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities will support Hyundai Motor Company's ESG management practices by presenting employment models through job analysis suitable for people with disabilities and by providing a range of employment services, including vocational training.


President Lee stated, "This agreement is significant as it creates an opportunity to work together on disability employment with a global company like Hyundai Motor Company. We will continue to do our utmost to realize the big picture for disability employment with Hyundai Motor Company and achieve meaningful results."


Executive Vice President Kim said, "Hyundai Motor Company aims to be a company that grows together with all stakeholders through sustainable management activities. We will continue to realize social value through the employment of people with disabilities and make ongoing efforts to practice ESG management."
