Efforts to Improve the Quality of Biological Resources Education and Exhibitions Show Results
The National Honam Biological Resources Center, under the Ministry of Environment and led by Director Park Jinyoung, announced on April 21 that it received a score of 97.3 in the '2024 Public Institution Customer Satisfaction Survey,' earning the highest evaluation grade of 'Excellent.'
This customer satisfaction survey is conducted annually by the Ministry of Economy and Finance in accordance with the 'Act on the Management of Public Institutions.' Its purpose is to strengthen the quality competitiveness of public institution services by measuring and publicly announcing customer satisfaction levels.

The National Honam Biological Resources Center achieved consistently high scores across all evaluation categories, including an overall satisfaction score of 97.4, service quality score of 97.6, and social responsibility score of 97.2, resulting in a total score of 97.3 and the highest customer satisfaction grade of 'Excellent.'
In particular, by business type, the 'demand-customized education program operation' category recorded a score of 97.4, up 4.5 points from the previous year, while the 'demand-customized biological resources exhibition' category scored 97.2, up 5.7 points from the previous year, demonstrating improvements in service quality.
Last year, the National Honam Biological Resources Center promoted self-assessment and improvement of its services to enhance the quality of island and coastal biological resources education. It also developed lifecycle-based education programs to strengthen customer-tailored services. As a result of these efforts, the center received a commendation from the Ministry of Education for its contributions to the development of national education.
In the exhibition sector, with the opening of the 'Korea Island Greenhouse,' the center promoted the creation of an exhibition culture that everyone can enjoy. It contributed to expanding access to public culture by receiving the 'Public Brand Grand Prize' in the public institution tourism sector and the 'Asia Design Prize Grand Prize.'
Director Park Jinyoung stated, "This Excellent grade in customer satisfaction is the result of customer-centered management and continuous efforts to improve our services," adding, "We will continue to provide customer-tailored biological resources services that meet the expectations of the public."
Meanwhile, this year, the center plans to open the 'Island Coastal Biological Education Center,' which is equipped with an optimal environment for island and coastal biological education, to offer more specialized and high-quality educational services.
