At the signing ceremony, attended by the presidents and about 20 executives from the three colleges, the institutions agreed to form a joint alliance system to address regional crises such as the small and medium-sized enterprise-centered industrial structure in Busan and Daegu, aging populations, youth outflow, and workforce shortages in the manufacturing sector. They also agreed to establish a cooperative system for implementing joint educational models and policies.
Through these efforts, the three colleges will collaborate to be selected for and implement the 'Glocal University 30 Project,' and to fulfill their roles as civic universities contributing to the global urban growth of Busan and Daegu.
In particular, to ensure the successful implementation of the Glocal University 30 Project, the institutions pledged to join forces to establish a Korean-style community college, and to realize and disseminate a leading model that redefines the role of vocational colleges in response to changing times.
Officials from both Busan and Daegu city governments also attended the ceremony and pledged active cooperation in the promotion of these colleges' 'Glocal University 30 Project.'
The presidents of the three colleges stated, "As three leading vocational colleges representing Busan and Daegu, we will work together to build a Korean-style community college that aligns with the objectives of the Glocal University 30 policy. We are committed to redefining the role of vocational colleges in line with changing times and to fulfilling our responsibilities as civic universities contributing to the growth of global cities."
