The National Gwangju Science Museum is supporting the research journey of students in the Honam region who are participating in artificial intelligence club activities.

This project, which began in 2022, is now in its fourth year. Through recruitment in March, a total of 11 clubs were selected, including two from elementary schools, five from middle schools, and four from high schools. Approximately 150 students, together with their supervising teachers, will conduct research activities until October.

The Science Museum will provide activity funds and practice materials according to each club's research theme. In addition, the museum will offer consulting from artificial intelligence experts and operate the "Artificial Intelligence Exploration Team," a program that allows students to visit research institutes during the summer vacation. Other benefits include free admission to the museum's permanent exhibition halls and invitations to related events.

By September, the students will carry out artificial intelligence research activities based on their chosen topics and will present their results at a performance review event in October. Outstanding clubs will be awarded the Minister of Science and ICT Award, the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education Superintendent Award, and the National Gwangju Science Museum Director Award.

Lee Jaeyoung, a researcher at the Gwangju Science Museum, said, "We hope this activity will increase students' interest in artificial intelligence and provide them with opportunities to explore various career paths."
