Baedal Minjok Installs "Everyone's Mint Track" Ramps for People with Mobility Challenges

Improved Store Accessibility and Support for Pickup Orders Expected
Goal to Install 20 Ramps by July

Baedal Minjok is set to launch a full-scale initiative to support the installation of ramps for people with mobility challenges, such as people with disabilities and the elderly, at dine-in restaurants, starting on the Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baedal Minjok, announced on April 21 that it has installed the first "Everyone's Mint Track" ramp at the Eubcheonri 382 Songpa Station coffee shop in Songpa-gu, Seoul.

"Everyone's Mint Track" is a project that installs ramps on entrance stairs or curbs at dine-in establishments so that customers using wheelchairs, strollers, or walkers can access restaurants without difficulty. This project is being carried out in collaboration with Ddaddeuthan Donghaeng, a specialized non-profit social welfare foundation for people with disabilities, and Korea Ramp, a ramp manufacturing company.

Ddaddeuthan Donghaeng, a purely non-profit organization, has been actively supporting spatial welfare and providing advanced assistive devices for people with disabilities since 2010, working toward a world without barriers. With support from Baedal Minjok, Ddaddeuthan Donghaeng is responsible for discovering and selecting participating stores and managing the overall process, while Korea Ramp handles the production and installation of the ramps.

Baedal Minjok not only supports the production and installation of the ramps but also participated in their design. The ramps feature warm and welcoming symbols such as flowers, doves, smiles, four-leaf clovers, and hearts, incorporating wheelchair tracks and footprints to express diversity, unity, and harmony.

Including this first installation, Baedal Minjok plans to select 20 dine-in restaurants in Songpa-gu by July and install 20 ramps. The company will recruit and select restaurant owners for ramp installation during May and June, with the goal of completing installations throughout July.

Kim Junghyun, Head of Value Management at Woowa Brothers, stated, "Stairs or curbs that are easy for most people to climb can be significant obstacles for some when trying to access dine-in restaurants. We hope this project will improve accessibility for people with mobility challenges and provide restaurant owners with the opportunity to welcome a wider range of customers."
