Healthy Homemade Meals for 30s and 40s: Lotte Launches New Siksairon Convenience Foods

Strengthening Product Lineup for Weekday Evenings for People in Their 30s and 40s
Rising Demand for Home-Cooked Meals Amid High Inflation, Reflecting the Value-for-Time Trend

Lotte Wellfood announced on April 21 that it has launched seven new products under its health and wellness convenience food brand, Siksairon. Siksairon is a brand that enhances nutrition by incorporating health-oriented ingredients into everyday menu items. The target demographic is people in their 30s and 40s. The company explained, "We have focused on categories that allow consumers, who are accustomed to dining out or ordering delivery, to appreciate the value of healthy and delicious homemade meals."

The new lineup includes one oven-roasted chicken convenience meal, such as "Charcoal-Flavored Oven Chicken Spicy Sauce"; two types of katsu convenience meals, including "Whole Meat Bite-Size Katsu" and "Whole Chicken Thigh Bite-Size Katsu"; two types of dumpling convenience meals, including "Dongpoyuk Bok Choy Dumpling" and "Baekkimchi Shrimp Dumpling"; one tteokbokki convenience meal, such as "Spicy Tteokbokki"; and one processed stick (skewer) convenience meal, such as "Chicken Breast Vegetable Stick."

The "Charcoal-Flavored Oven Chicken Spicy Sauce" is made with 100% chicken thigh meat, offering a tender texture. It features a spicy sauce with a hint of charcoal flavor, paired with rice cakes. To reduce concerns about calories and fat, the chicken is oven-roasted to minimize unnecessary oil. The "Whole Meat Bite-Size Katsu" and "Whole Chicken Thigh Bite-Size Katsu" are made by frying whole pieces of meat or chicken thigh, and their bite-size portions make them easy to eat without the need for cutting.

The "Dongpoyuk Bok Choy Dumpling" uses a juice granule technique to encapsulate meat juices in granule form, capturing the full flavor of Dongpoyuk. The "Baekkimchi Shrimp Dumpling" combines domestically sourced baekkimchi and five vegetables (cabbage, onion, chives, radish, and garlic), resulting in lower calories while preserving the unique appeal of shrimp dumplings. The "Spicy Tteokbokki" features a spicy and savory sauce made with vegetable broth, wheat rice cakes, and fish cakes. The "Chicken Breast Vegetable Stick" is a high-protein skewer product packed with 100% domestically sourced chicken breast and five types of vegetables.

Meanwhile, Lotte Wellfood recently signed a "Win-Win Agreement for Branding and Market Expansion Support for Centennial Small Business Owners" with the Small Enterprise and Market Service, the Centennial Store Cooperative Federation, and with support from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. Under this agreement, the company plans to launch a joint brand between "Centennial Store" and "Siksairon" this year and to commercialize and release "Centennial Store" menu items as home meal replacement (HMR) products.
