On April 21, KB Securities marked the fifth anniversary of its Prime Center and reflected on its achievements to date, expressing its ambition to further strengthen customer-centric wealth management services through new challenges.
KB Securities first opened the Prime Center in Magok-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul in February 2020, in response to demand from clients seeking in-depth advice on asset management through direct consultations with experts. With the goal of providing "easy remote consultations with a private banker (PB) through a single phone call for anyone," the company launched non-face-to-face consultation services for clients who found it difficult to visit offline branches, covering not only stocks and financial products but also tax, real estate, and pension matters.
In 2024, approximately 44,000 clients used the remote consultation services offered by the Prime Center over the course of the year, meaning that each Prime PB conducted consultations with about 1,000 clients annually. The continued increase in clients using remote consultation services led to the opening of the Prime2 Center in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu in July 2022.
Additionally, the Prime Center operates its services so that clients can have ongoing consultations with a specific Prime PB of their choice. This enables clients to receive more in-depth advice on investments and asset management from a familiar PB. As of the end of last year, the number of clients who designated a dedicated PB exceeded 8,000.
More than 85% of all consultations were related to investments in stocks and financial products, while consultations related to "value-up" accounted for 10.1% of the total last year. This confirms that clients are seeking in-depth analysis on real-time issues.
In particular, as social interest in pensions has recently increased, remote consultations regarding pensions have also been steadily rising. In response, KB Securities established a dedicated Pension Asset Management Center within the Prime Center in March.
The Pension Asset Management Center provides comprehensive consultations on the three-tier pension structure, encompassing the National Pension, retirement pensions, and private pensions. It helps clients understand the overall pension system and tax benefits, as well as design post-retirement asset management strategies. To this end, KB Securities provides specialized training to PBs and has built an internal platform to systematically accumulate and share client consultation cases.
Kim Yujin, Head of Customer Contact Division at KB Securities, stated, "I hope that the Pension Asset Management Center will become the first place clients think of when they have questions about pensions or need assistance," adding, "On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the Prime Center's opening, KB Securities will become a true partner that designs the future together with our clients through new challenges."
