Children's Day Festival to Be Held at Deungnamu Culture Park and Junggye Neighborhood Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 3
Various Performances Including "Carrie and Friends Singalong Show" and "Bebefin Happy Concert," Plus a Giant Bubble Party
Nowon District (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) announced that it will host a festival themed "Nowon Wonderland: Secret Garden" on May 3 to celebrate the 103rd Children's Day.
This year, the event will move away from its previous format, which involved closing the seven-lane Nohae-ro road, and instead take place at Deungnamu Culture Park and Junggye Neighborhood Park. In particular, the greenway connecting the two parks will be decorated with a theme inspired by the fairy tale "Alice in Wonderland," offering visitors the experience of moving between different dimensions as they travel between the parks.
Deungnamu Culture Park will serve as a space focused on performances and play, featuring the main stage, amusement rides, photo zones, and rest areas. On the main stage, starting at 10:30 a.m., magician Kim Youngrae will present an omnibus magic show, followed by popular character performances such as the "Carrie and Friends Singalong Show" and the "Bebefin Happy Concert." In between these acts, local performance groups including the Nowon Taekwondo Demonstration Team, the Shoulder-to-Shoulder Choir, and the Shovel Academy will also take the stage.
At the "Playground," children can enjoy a variety of amusement rides such as air bumper cars, a mini rail train, and air bounce attractions, as well as participate in large-scale block play.
Additionally, at the And Center experience booth, children can take part in drone racing, where they control drones to compete, and "Tank Robot Survival," where they directly operate tank robots in head-to-head matches.
Across the way at Junggye Neighborhood Park, various themed zones will stimulate children's senses, including a bubble party zone, an experience zone, and a safety zone.
In the "Bubble Party Zone," a lively kids' dance club and magic show will take place inside giant bubbles created using bubble machines and foam guns. In the
The "Experience Zone," which is expected to be the main attraction for children this year, will feature a preview of the district's upcoming indoor complex sports facility for youth, "Jump." A pop-up booth will allow visitors to try unique activities such as laser survival games.
Other activities designed to spark children's imaginations will include a miniature train experience, toy flea market, solar observation with an astronomical telescope, and multicultural traditional games.
Throughout the parks, food trucks will offer a variety of foods, and rest areas with parasols and mats will be provided so that families can relax comfortably together.
In addition, various convenience facilities such as showers, nursing rooms, and portable toilets will be available to enhance the comfort of visitors.
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, stated, "This year, we plan to welcome children with even more abundant attractions and fairy tale-like spaces," adding, "I hope our children will fully enjoy themselves and create happy memories in Nowon's Secret Garden."
