BISTEP Wins Grand Prize in Institutional Category at AI Convergence Technology Awards

Recognized for Achievements in Science and Technology Policy Research and Attracting R&D Projects

The AI Convergence Technology Awards were established to recognize institutions, researchers, and entrepreneurs who have contributed to the advancement of AI convergence technology and policy research in Korea, and to widely share their achievements, as the application of AI convergence technology accelerates across all industrial sectors.

Now in its second year, the event is co-hosted by three organizations: the Busan AI Convergence Technology Association, the Korea AI Convergence Technology Society, and the Korea Convergence Signal Processing Society. Based on research achievements from the past five years, the awards focus on evaluating innovation, impact, and tangible changes across the industrial landscape, presenting awards in categories such as institutions, companies, researchers, and technologists.

BISTEP, which was selected as the Grand Prize winner in the Institutional Category, is a specialized R&D planning institute for regional science and technology policy research and industrial innovation. Marking its 10th anniversary this year since its establishment in 2015, BISTEP was recognized for its contributions to fostering new growth industries and improving citizens' quality of life through future technology forecasting.

BISTEP President Kim Youngbu stated, "As a policy support institution for Busan City, we will further strengthen our research and planning functions to drive innovative policies for future industries," and added, "We will continue to enhance our core functions to contribute to the development of new industries through advanced technologies, including AI, and to foster talent in higher education."
