Fuel Replacement and Preventive Maintenance Planned
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power's Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters (Director: Lee Seyong) announced that Shin Hanul Unit 2 (pressurized water reactor, 1.4 million kW class) began its first scheduled preventive maintenance at 10:00 a.m. on April 20.
During the approximately 87-day scheduled preventive maintenance period, Shin Hanul Unit 2 will undergo a complete disassembly and inspection of the turbine, maintenance of the reactor coolant pump, and other tasks. After statutory inspections under the Nuclear Safety Act and confirmation of compliance by regulatory authorities, the plant is expected to resume power generation in July, following approval for operation from the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission.
