92 Prostitution-Suspected Establishments in Daegu Dong District Under Midnight Crackdown... Joint Public-Private Inspection Teams

On April 17, the Dong District Office of Daegu (headed by Yoon Seokjun) conducted a joint nighttime inspection with both public and private sectors, targeting 92 establishments in Sincheon 4-dong, Dong District, Daegu, that are suspected of being involved in prostitution.


This area is a representative entertainment district, where establishments such as adult entertainment bars, karaoke bars, singing rooms, and lodging facilities suspected of prostitution are concentrated.

Joint Public-Private Inspection Teams Private organizations, the police, Daegu City, and Dong District Office formed a joint civilian task force to conduct intensive inspections of 92 establishments suspected of prostitution in Sincheon 4-dong, Dong District, Daegu City.

For this inspection, a total of 35 people?including members of private organizations supporting victims of prostitution, the Dongbu Police Station, Dongbu Fire Station, Daegu City, Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education, and staff from the Dong District Office?were organized into six teams. They selected establishments where the probability of prostitution or related activities occurring is high, and focused on prevention and guidance by checking for the posting of anti-prostitution notices, prohibiting prostitution (including brokering), verifying whether minors were present, and ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations at each establishment.


Yoon Seokjun, head of the Dong District Office of Daegu, stated, "Through joint inspections and promotional campaigns to prevent prostitution, we will foster a healthy awareness among local residents about eradicating prostitution, and by strengthening preventive activities such as inspections of areas where prostitution-prone businesses are concentrated, we aim to make Dong District a prostitution-free area."
