"Establishing Itself as a Hub That Helps Young People"
Seocho Youth Center Marks Its First Anniversary
Seocho District in Seoul (District Mayor Jeon Seongsoo) will host the 2nd Youth Policy Dream Concert, 'Happy Seocho Youth Day,' at Seocho Youth Center on April 24 at 4:00 p.m. This event has been organized as a comprehensive festival combining policy and culture to celebrate the first anniversary of the center's opening.
Starting at 4:00 p.m. on the same day, a policy fair will be held where participants can directly experience a variety of youth policies, including those related to career, employment, and daily life stability. In the career and employment sector, which is of greatest interest to young people, programs such as MBTI personality type tests, one-on-one job counseling in cooperation with the Seocho Women's Workforce Development Center, and makeup and personal color analysis will be offered.
In the area of daily life stability, there will be a comprehensive youth policy counseling service providing tailored public service information, as well as the Assopino Art psychological test to assess mental well-being. In addition, professional consultants from LH Housing Welfare Information Co., Ltd. will offer consultations to help young people feel secure in their housing situations.
To facilitate communication with local youth, a 'Digital Caricature' experience booth will be operated in collaboration with students from Baekseok Arts University, who are active at the Bangbae Art Youth Center. A special event will also be held for young people who participate in two or more programs, in which they will receive a personalized caricature, providing visitors with additional enjoyment and memorable experiences.
From 5:00 p.m., the event will feature an opening performance by magician Yoo Sangwook, followed by the first anniversary ceremony and a congratulatory performance by the band 'Oa Band.' Afterwards, there will be a special lecture on mastering youth housing contracts, designed to answer questions from young people preparing to sign their first contracts.
Starting on the day of the event, the rooftop space on the third floor of Seocho Youth Center will also open as an outdoor rest area called 'Seocho Youth Roof-On.' 'Roof-On' is a participatory space named and operated by young people themselves for the event, symbolizing the energy and passion of youth that begins on the rooftop.
The event is open to young people aged 19 to 39 who live or are active in Seocho District. Pre-registration is available on the Seocho Youth Center website, and on-site registration will also be possible from 4:00 p.m. on the day of the event. For more information, contact the Seocho District Office Child and Youth Division (02-2155-6716) or Seocho Youth Center (02-6235-3330).
Meanwhile, Seocho District opened the Seocho Youth Center on April 25 last year and has since received a great response by operating a variety of policy programs designed to ease the challenges of youth life, including social youth culture and arts entrepreneurship support projects, as well as housing, finance, and employment assistance.
District Mayor Jeon Seongsoo stated, "I hope that, on its first anniversary, Seocho Youth Center will establish itself as a hub that provides practical help to young people's lives," adding, "We will continue to provide unwavering support so that young people can dream and grow."
