Damyang County Offers Free Admission to Tourist Attractions for Local Public Institution Employees Meta Land, Damyang. Provided by Damyang County

Damyang County in South Jeolla Province announced on April 18 that it is offering free admission to Damyang's major tourist attractions for residents who are working or studying within the county.

The tourist sites with free admission include Juknokwon, Meta Land, Soswaewon, the Korea Bamboo Museum, and Gamagol Ecological Park. These are renowned destinations where visitors can fully experience Damyang's natural beauty and culture.

In particular, Juknokwon and the Metasequoia-lined Road have gained nationwide attention, having been selected last year for the Korea Forest Service's "50 Beautiful Urban Forests" and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's "Local 100."

Juknokwon is Damyang's signature tourist site, offering a variety of experiences such as forest bathing, foot baths, and traditional Hanok accommodations along eight themed bamboo forest trails. Meta Land features a 2.1-kilometer tree-lined road and is well equipped with facilities for families, including a children's science center, a frog ecology exhibition hall, and a children's Provence area.

Gamagol Ecological Park is a natural wonder centered around Yongchusan in Yongmyeon, boasting the scenic Yongso Waterfall?the source of the Yeongsan River?and striking rock formations. Those eligible for free admission include students and faculty of schools in Damyang County, as well as employees of local public institutions (such as fire stations, military units, education offices, police stations, election commissions, post offices, the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service, Jeonnam Education Training Institute, Jeonnam Animal Hygiene Laboratory, and others). Visitors must present identification or proof of affiliation upon entry.

County Governor Jeong Cheolwon stated, "I hope that school and public institution staff working in our region can take a moment to relax and enjoy Damyang's nature and culture," adding, "We will continue our efforts to make Damyang a community that breathes together with its residents."
