Damyang County in South Jeolla Province announced on the 18th that it held its first 'Major County Administration Business Progress Report Meeting' since the inauguration of Mayor Jung Cheolwon on the 17th at Songgangjeong Hall in the county office, where the direction of county administration and key priority projects were shared.

The report meeting was held in two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, during which the progress of 313 projects was reported, including 85 key initiatives and 228 major business items. Notably, this was the first time such an official meeting was held in the latter half of the 8th popularly elected administration, serving as an opportunity to share the new county administration philosophy and establish a practical framework for collaboration.

During the meeting, Mayor Jung emphasized, "Stabilizing county administration is our top priority, so we will ensure the smooth progress of existing projects and prioritize the implementation of the 'Odamm Happiness Pledge' promised to residents, focusing first on actionable tasks and pushing them forward with speed."

The 'Odamm Happiness Pledge' consists of five major county administration promises that outline Damyang's future vision: ▲ Establishing the county as the leading inland tourism and ecological garden culture city ▲ Creating vibrant living, leisure, and working spaces for residents ▲ Fostering sustainable agriculture and rural communities that generate income ▲ Realizing an economically self-reliant city through urban-rural integration ▲ Implementing empathetic administration based on communication and harmony.

At the meeting, key agenda items for the county's sustainable future were discussed in depth, including: ▲ Efficient utilization of the Local Extinction Response Fund ▲ Creating a child-rearing-friendly environment through safe childcare ▲ Building a stay-type cultural tourism city in anticipation of 30 million annual tourists ▲ Reconstruction of Changpyeong Traditional Market ▲ Urban development of the Goseo Bochon District ▲ Establishment of Damyang's Second General Industrial Complex ▲ Revitalizing rural communities by fostering young farmers.

Mayor Jung called on each department "to achieve results that residents can truly feel through cooperation and communication," and further requested, "While adhering to fundamentals and principles to prevent unreasonable administrative practices, please always provide alternatives to citizens and deliver kind and proactive administration."
