"From Seoul to Haenam," Donation Drive for Yeongdeok Wildfire Recovery Continues

As of April 17, the cumulative donations for wildfire recovery efforts in Yeongdeok County, North Gyeongsang Province, have surpassed 5.97 billion won, thanks to the heartfelt support and encouragement pouring in not only from the local community but also from across the country.

First, officials and employees of the Yeongdeok County Forestry Cooperative and the Yeongdeok County Forestry Cooperative Corporate Association each donated 14 million won. Volunteer firefighters from Haenam County contributed 12.38 million won. Gordon Trading Co., Ltd., Lee Jeonggon of Greentech, and Kim Myeonghee of Dodoom each donated 10 million won to Yeongdeok County.


Additionally, the Uljin County Medical Center Workplace Council contributed 6.65 million won. The Ganggu Fixed Net Association, JM Multi, Haein Architecture-Civil Engineering Comprehensive Design Office, and Haein Construction each donated 5 million won. The Haenam-eup Male Volunteer Firefighters contributed 4.4 million won, while the Yeongdeok County Beauticians Association and the Yeongdeok Market Prosperity Association each provided 3 million won, delivering warmth and support.


Furthermore, the People Power Party Uljin County Party Association and the 28th alumni association of Yeonghae High School in Seoul each donated 2 million won. The Gyeongju Electrical Engineers Association, the Gumi-Yeongdeok County Residents Association, the 19th alumni association of Ochon Elementary School, the 5th alumni association of Changsu Middle School, and Yeongdeok County volunteer firefighters each contributed 1 million won. The Korea Beauticians Association Gyeongbuk Branch donated 500,000 won, adding to the collective effort.


As of this date, the donations collected for wildfire recovery in Yeongdeok County consist of 1,513 general donations amounting to approximately 4.30134 billion won, and 15,150 donations through the Hometown Love Donation program totaling approximately 1.67029 billion won.


Volunteers continue to participate steadily in the recovery efforts, with more than 4,000 volunteers having already been dispatched to the site to assist in restoration activities.

Donations can be made through general contributions to the Yeongdeok Welfare Foundation, as well as designated donations to the Hometown Love Donation program via Hometown Love eum and WeGive.
