"PinFocus" is a project designed to deepen the creative process through diverse perspectives on art and to broaden the scope of empathy between artists and citizens. Targeting artists preparing new works in the fields of performing arts, visual arts, and literature, the program highlights each piece from multiple angles through both professional critiques and citizen reviews. By combining different viewpoints, the project enriches the meaning of art, provides artists with an opportunity to reflect on their work and connect with audiences, and offers citizens a chance to expand their understanding of art.
Eligible applicants are professional artists or art groups residing in Chuncheon who plan to present (or publish) a new work in Chuncheon between June and October this year. A total of 12 participants will be selected: four teams in performing arts, four individuals in visual arts, and four individuals in literature. The program covers a wide range of artistic genres, including theater, dance, music, painting, photography, media art, poetry, and fiction.
Selected artists will receive several benefits, including: ▲ matching with professional critics and a citizen review panel ▲ publication of professional critiques in local newspapers and on the Chuncheon Cultural Foundation’s online platforms ▲ and posting of citizen reviews on social media.
Park Jonghun, President of the Chuncheon Cultural Foundation, stated, "This project aims to record and disseminate art in a more multidimensional way by embracing both professionalism and public appeal. We hope many creators who wish to look deeper into their own works and engage with diverse perspectives will participate."
The application period runs from April 18 to April 28, and applications can be submitted through the Chuncheon Cultural Foundation’s online support system. For more details, visit the Chuncheon Cultural Foundation website or contact the Arts Support Team at the Urban Culture Center.
